Geeky couples are an interesting breed of relationship. Mostly because it is hard to imagine oneself arguing over which Star Wars prequel was worse, disagreeing and shouting about Jar Jar’s proliferation in I versus cheesy, terrible romance in II, and then taking that person to bed with you later, with or without some Nobuo Uematsu, the Kenny G of geek lovemaking. Backward Compatible, a novel by card-holding nerds Sarah Daltry and Pete Clark, delves into the rocky conception of a geek romance. This isn’t your typical romance novel either, not only because there is no image of Fabio shirtless on the cover with a nightgown-wearing, half-fainting, large-breasted so-and-so dangling from his arms, enraptured. Top 5 Console Games of 2012

2012 comes to a close soon, and Top X Lists are everywhere. The year has been both generous and unkind to the video game industry, scoring plusses for the amount of innovation and creativity we have seen, but losing points for the quantity of games that successfully use their beautiful concepts.
